Show Synopsis
THE ADDAMS FAMILY, a comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family, features an original story and it’s every father’s nightmare: Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met. And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before – keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia. Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.
Creative Team
Nick Kulnies, Director

Nick Kulnies has been involved in theatre, both onstage and behind the scenes, from a young age. Originally from Hamilton Nick spent his summers growing up in theatre school, with his earliest full-scale production being Cabaret – which in retrospect is a really questionable choice for teenagers. Since moving to Guelph theatre has continued to be a passion.
For the past decade, Nick has been thrilled to be part of the artistic Board for Hammer Entertainment. Some of his favourite onstage roles include Gangster 2 in Drowsy Chaperone, Jetsam in The Little Mermaid, and Brian in Avenue Q.
Nick first made the transition to a director on a production of 9 to 5 (who doesn’t love Dolly) and unlocked a passion for nurturing and a cast as they develop and grow as an artist. Other directorial endeavours include The Addams Family, Heathers, Big Fish and If/Then.
Nick is excited to return to the mysterious and ooky world of The Addams as a chance to remind everyone to embrace their inner weirdness.
Martin Lacoste, Music Director

Martin is currently the Head of Music at Bluevale Collegiate Institute in Waterloo, where he directs four bands and choirs. He currently performs with Soul Sauce Vocal Jazz Ensemble and Royal City Big Band, and has performed in the orchestra for many productions, including Oklahoma!, Jesus Christ Superstar, The King and I (RCMPI) KWMP’s 70th Anniversary Production and Jesus Christ Superstar (KWMP). He has served as musical director for: Guys and Dolls, Leader of the Pack, Cabaret, 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Evita (JM Drama), Princess Ida (Waterloo Regional G & S Society) and Jesus Christ Superstar – The Concert Event (KWMP). When not involved in musical endeavours, Martin enjoys squash (the sport, not the vegetable), hockey, slo-pitch, biking and following the Jays’ (slow) rise back to dominance.
Caroline McLaughlin, Choreographer

Caroline is a native of Toronto where she studied dance for 20 years before making her home in Brantford. She is currently the Artistic Director of Studio 5.6.7.8 Inc. where she choreographs, directs and teaches recreational and competitive students in all dance genres. Mrs. McLaughlin is a graduate of the Fitness & Lifestyle Management program from George Brown College, as well as being certified through the Performing Arts Educators of Canada, Acrobatic Arts, Can Fit Pro and the National Coaching Certification Program.
She maintains a busy schedule outside the studio where she nurtures her passion for Musical Theatre. Mrs. McLaughlin was part of the creative team on several Musical Theatre productions through St. Johns College including West Side Story, Guys & Dolls, Oklahoma, Les Miserables and Fame where she also played the role of Miss Bell.
She is thrilled to be part of the Creative Team and can’t wait to dive into the kooky upside-down world of The Addams Family.
